  I did a search of Jehovah's Witnesses for Denver and ended up with 15 results. Did you search Kingdom Hall or Jehovah's Witnesses?

  this thread is for those of us that are single and hate everything that this day is about.

  i was using the atm at albertson's this morning and all around me i saw men buying candy and flowers and i seriously wanted to stab them....**note i would never actually hurt someone** sooooooooo i left the store and came right to work where i will be safe from ppl and teddy bears and candy and flowers.

  so if you hate this day as much as i do, feel free to use this thread to vent.. lola ** of the bitter table for one class** saying a big f*ck you to today..

  has the supposely slowed down economy affected you or do you find yourself having all the money you need and your job holding up well?

  I just did my taxes last week and my income was up 14% over last year. Part of the reason for the increase is that my employer has put in a hiring freeze due to union contract negotiations and I get tons of OT opportunities. I'm not sure of the rational behind the employer's decision, but they can pay me or someone else. The work needs to get done. For the first time in a long, long time, my only debt is a mortage and I'm able to double and sometimes triple the payment as I want to be free of that obligation. On another front, my retirement portfolio did really well in 2006. So far the current economy is treating me well.

  i just recently got back from maui, hawaii ... so if i am late to the party on this subject, sorry.

  i just unplug from information, while on vacation.

  although, while there we did hear that anna nichol smith died.

  Anna Nichol Smith was not the only mother to die on February 8, 2007. I did a search of that days obits and it didn't take long to find this one.

  I know nothing of Ms. St. Pierre, but if ANS represents what is wrong with society, Ms. St. Pierre represents what is right in society. For every ANS there are tens of thousands of of St. Pierre's out there. While ANS was a queen of reality tv for a while, people like Carolynne St. Pierre are Goddesses of Reality.

  RIP Carolynne. My life is poorer for never having met you. When I die I hope my obituary reads 1/10 as well as yours.

  (I just noticed that Ms. St. Pierre actually died 2/10/07, not 2/8/07. Regardless, I think you get my drift.)

  I just hope that Anna's untimely death leads to a good outcome in tabloid land. Maybe Rosie and The Donald will pause and reflect on the fagility of life and will be able to make peace with each other. That is my sincere wish. Really.

  Something is in the basement...

  this morning i was doing my typical sunday morning routine, which consists of pretty much nothing, and went to the kitchen for a coffee.

  i noticed that one of my cats was sitting next to the basement door which was an odd place for the cat to be sitting but i didn't give it a second thought.

  a bit later i went to refill my coffee cup and the cat was in the same place.

  I looked at the chimney again. If that bird dropped in from the roof and then managed to work its way through the water heater or boiler, that bird is the Houdini of the bird world. It was a fairly large bird about the size of a blackbird (it wasn't a blackbird, maybe a grackle?). I looked at the dryer vent. The flapper is working on the outside and if it did get through the vent I don't know how it would have gotten through the dryer.

  It has been cold here so I don't fault the bird for getting in. I have a heated bird bath that gets heaps of visits. A couple of neighborhood stray cats have been enjoying the heated cat shelter out back during this cold snap. Those two have been trying to sneak into the house but I don't think my cats would appreciate it much if they made it in.

  The demons must have let it in... Now you're trying to scare me. Maybe because I just lounge around on Sunday mornings instead of sitting in the kh, Jehovah sent a bird into my basement as a sign of things to come.
